FIS information system
Basic information
FIS is an information system for management of small and medium-sized companies. This is solely a Czech product, the production of which was initiated in 1991.
The FIS information system uses the most up to date technologies and it has a great advantage in further growth and possibilities to incorporate selected data. The system clearly shows accumulated data with understandable tables and charts. These data could be used by the company management as a background for strategic decision making.
The system ensures high data safety, from the point of view of possible impairment as well as a theft, change or copying. The ORACLE environment, in which the data are stored, are among the most reliable and it is used worldwide in the biggest companies, banks and state administration. Every user has access only to such information that is allowed by the system administrator.
The FIS system can develop further also in the direction of the newest trends. The development environment, in which it is written and updated (UNIFACE), enables an operative reactionto the requirements and thereby performing changes in the system within several hours. Thanks to the technology used, it is possible to operate the application in the environment MS WINDOWS 98, 2000, XP, SUN UNIX, SCO UNIX, LINUX, possibly in the environment of Internet/Intranet with the use of an application server.

Data safety
Data safety is essential for information systems.
The FIS information system is based on the architecture Client/Server using the technology - transaction processing of data , where the server is used for searching and processing of data, whereas the client (personal computer) is only presenting such data to the user in a graphical environment. Transaction processing ensures consistency of data also in the case of a failure during currently performed operation, which is not yet completed. In association with the system of access right to the Oracle database and access system IS FIS (rights of users to modules, actions, types of each document, to each line and field in the tables) the maximum level of safety is ensured.
Extensibility
Thanks to the used database technology Oracle, it is possible to establish the FIS information system for companies of various sizes, from installation on a local computer to a network installation with hundreds of active users on Unix servers. The database server Oracle is able to process data up to tens and hundreds of GB, i.e. growing needs of the company do not need to mean anything other than a possible change of the database server and not a change of the whole application. This is furthermore supported also by a possibility of a change of appropriate platform of the system (Intel, RISC) and operation server, where the operation systems Linux, Microsoft, Unix, SUN Solaris, IBM AIX are standardly supported.
Modularity
The information system FIS is a modern modular system, which can be fully adjusted to the processes in each field in accordance with the organisational structure of the company. Each modules of the information system are fully interconnected and integrated so that they finally simplified the work of the users and made it more efficient.
User flexibility
The main advantage of the FIS information system includes its variability andadaptability to specific requirements of the company and each user. Due to the used software instruments, there are means available for production and adjustment of outputs and adjustment of forms for editing and data imaging.
Technological advance
The FIS information system is created with the use of the most up to date software technologies and it can react to newly developing trends and directions of development. Full compliance with accountancy, tax and generally valid legislation is ensured. Electronic exchange of data in the form EDI/XML is supported as standard. The possibility of a remote connection with the use of terminal services JTI (JAVA Thin interface) is a matter of course.
